SAR Portal Update

Changes to the current SAR template on the PolSAR online reporting portal are due to take place on 2nd February 2022. The change to the updated SAR template, are a culmination of collaborative working between the FIU and a dedicated industry SAR Template User Group and other key stakeholders to make improvement to the SAR online reporting portal.

The purpose of the changes will allow for a more detailed, clear and methodical way of reporting of ML/TF suspicion and any requisite consent requests. In turn this will result in the FIU being able to action suspicion of Money Laundering (ML) / Terrorist Financing (TF) and consent matters in a more expeditious way.

in addition, it will allow for better statistical information to be gathered by the FIU, leading to better outreach and engagement with industry of current ML/TF trends and identified typologies.

In preparation for this important update to the PolSAR Portal, the FIU will release a webinar presentation shortly, taking you through the steps of using the new SAR template. However, in preparation and in addition to assist users of the PolSAR portal, a new detailed user guide has been uploaded to the PolSAR portal, which can be found in the help section/menu after they have logged in.

In releasing the new user guide early, the aim is to assist submitters of SARs to be aware of the changes to the online reporting template, and allow submitters and their organisations te opportunity to review and consider any changes they may wish to undertake in respect of the internal process and procedures concerning internal and external reporting.

in the next few weeks before the new template goes live, we will provide further information and updates via the PolSAR Portal to keep you informed. We encourage you to login to access the current PolSAR portal and review the new user guide, which will be available from Thursday 20th January 2022.

Should you have difficulty logging into the PolSAR portal, it may mean that your login details may need resetting. You can email the FIU admin team on: fiu.admin@jersey.police.je and include the word ‘LOGIN’ in the subject of the email to have your login reset.
